This is New England Aster, Aster novae-angliae. Around mid-August I kept thinking I needed some aster, it was like a craving for something sweet. I made my way to a nursery nearby and found this variety and Aster oblongifolius ‘Raydon’s Favorite’. The wonderful nursery nearby that sells many native plant varieties is, Behmerwald Nursery. Also, I realize the classification for Aster has changed, however the new name is too complicated for me to remember let alone spell.
